Through the process, Jose understood if he wasn’t happy at 40 lbs lost before, then he would never be happy even if he was in the “best shape of his life”. He started to speak words of affirmation through his journey instead of self-hate. Through this action, he learned that perfection was not reachable. ‘Being his best’ was what mattered most.
