At 408 lbs Josh Came to me with one goal and this was to find optimal health without the previous shortcut of a failed gastric sleeve years prior to approaching hands on guidance.

Josh is down 101lbs today and he continues his journey as he is not done yet!

Guilt, Shame and Eating

Emotional Eating was Josh’s escape for many years. This temporary escape was not only a dark pit of depression, but it left him desperate. This desperation led to a gastric sleeve that failed because his habits hadn’t changed as drastic as the size of his stomach.

The Solution

  • Emotional Eating would lead to shame and guilt and an under-eating over eating cycle.
With most cases of emotional eating, the guilt and shame are like chains that create a reflex to under eat the following days after and this then leads to another over eating cycle. We utilize the Accountability and emotional support for Josh to release his failures immediately. This allowed Josh to get right back up, and not let it turn to under Eating or prolonged guilt and shame.
  • Failed Gastic Surgery created issues with appetite and adherence.

Having prior experience with failed gastric bypasses and bariatric clients, making sure food quantities not only satisfied but gave Kirk the adequate micronutrients was crucial.

Josh is learning there is no shortcut to sustainable change and this time around is making not a single excuse!

  • Josh’s deeper why
As we continue over 100 lbs down Josh has been far from perfect but the deeper he continues to remember his real “Why”, the more Josh is able to get right back up and “Fail Forward”!
