Social drinking and a heavy work environment created a spiral for Chris that found him at 196 lbs.
He reached out because he saw my story of breaking the addiction and creating a lifestyle change. This is exactly where he is today!
Heavy Work and Poor Planning
Being a former athlete, an injury left Chris inactive. Between the inactivity, alcohol and years of overload with his work, Chris was in poor health both physically and mentally.
The Solution
- Heavy work loads lead to poor planning
We worked in creating easy weekly menus that Chris enjoyed.
- Chris was back to being active with rigorous hockey training but this typically led to over eating.
We made sure to structure his nutrition correctly to fuel his workouts/recovery and slow his digestion down to control his hunger.
- After long work days, alcohol was a stress relief. Social events also led to drinking more alcohol.
We worked to find a balance between when to have alcohol. Alternatives to beer that were less damaging calorically were helpful. This enabled Chris to find the balance which in turn resulted in sustainable lifestyle change.
